ok, so it's been a while

as i said, it's been a while.

nothing much going on really.  well i guess there's stuff going on, but...ah, who knows.

i actually, just like the dire straits song, "i got my money for nothin" so i've picked up a bunch of dvd's over the past couple of days.

the abbot and costello franchise collection volumes 1, 2 & 3
8 movies per set for $19.99, you can't beat that

the airport franchise collection
4 airport disaster flicks for $19.99

dilbert: the complete series

boomtown: season 1

i saw the first three dilbert episodes two nights ago.  i tried to watch a few last night and the dvd player shit the bed, so we'll see where that leaves us.  no big deal really, you can pick up a dvd player for less that dinner at mcdonalds these days.

anywho, i'm excited to watch boomtown.  i only saw it a few times while it was on the air, but i thought it really was brilliant.  there take on the "law and order" type genre was original.  my only concern was donnie walhberg, which was the reason i never watched it originally when it premiered.  i am pleasantly surprised that he is a much better actor than he was a new kid on the block...i'd go so far as to even say he's good.  anyway, what i saw i liked so i'm excited to see more.

as far...oh, i forgot i picked up casablanca too.  i had the flick on tape before one of the dogs chewed on it a few years ago.  i think the older i get the more i like older movies.  they're more innocent and to a point more real (as real as fiction can be anyway)  they're more...substantial is the word i'm looking for i guess.  it's the difference between getting a burger at mcdonald's and having mom cook sunday dinner.

speaking of sunday dinner, that's where my love of abbot and costello comes from.  we used to watch those movies on channel 11 wpix on sunday mornings/afternoons.  just one of those things you remember, you know?  good stuff from when you were a kid.  sometimes those memories seem like old movies too...

so, that's the movie thing.  it's funny because we don't really watch a lot of movies, but i love dvd's.  ironic don't you think alanis?  it's kind of like hating people and yet loving gatherings...thanks randal.

work goes...slowly, but it goes.  only 5 more working days until vacation.  the wife and i are going up to visit her family in upstate ny.  rome, buffalo and maybe canada.  dunno.  don't have passports, even though you don't need them to get in or back from what i understand...we'll see.

should be getting back to it really so i'll leave it at that.  more later maybe.

Pups Without Partners Greyhound Adoption

Pups Without Partners Greyhound Adoption

This is where we adopted our Greyhound. They're great people who do great things for these dogs. If you're looking for a pet, please consider a Greyhound from Pups Without Partners.

Greyhounds are not at all difficult to care for and are probably not what you think.

They're big couch potato's who don't really need all that much room to live in, actually most do great in apartments and condos as well as houses.

They don't need to run everyday, walking is fine. The only real rule for them is, they always need to be on a leash if they're not in a fenced in area.

You can check out Pups Without Partners by clicking the link.

Thanks.
